The focus of our Behavioral Therapy is offering effective ways to help people cope with the emotional and psychological tolls of a Brain Injury. Many BI patients can experience emotional or behavioral changes following their injury including:
- Emotional lability which can cause extreme mood swings
- Anxiety Disorders Which can include panic disorders and OCD
- Orbitofrontal syndrome which can include impulsive behaviors or personality disorders
- Flat affect which can cause a lack or flattening of emotional expression
- Lack of empathy and social skills

Goal of Behavioral Therapy
The goal of Behavioral Therapy at Thrive Therapy of Kansas is to teach coping methods that can help our patients learn to manage the emotional effects of their brain injury so that they no longer dictate their actions.
