Therapy Center Features

Game Rooms

Providing access to the latest games and accessories, patients will work on hand/eye coordination and challenge their cognitive abilities against different electronic games.

Learning Library

Providing access to computers and printers and a full library of books and resources to appeal to all interests and ability levels, our Learning Libraries are just the place to settle down and get cozy with a book, puzzle, or audio book.

Classrooms

Arts and Crafts

One of our center’s highlights, we offer arts and crafts rooms that have access to different mediums to encourage our patients therapy skills of improved physical functioning through the development of fine motor skills, emotional regulation, coping strategies, and decompression. Through art and individual expression, our patients can aid in their physical rehabilitation and form new outlets of expression. Proven to reduce levels of stress and anxiety and increase self-esteem, our arts and crafts program is a large part of a patient’s cognitive and behavioral rehabilitation.

Gym

Our accessible fitness centers features state of the art equipment for physical and occupational rehab. From a treadmill and recumbent bike to hand weights and adaptive equipment, we enable Brain Injury patients to achieve their fitness and training goals. Staffed with licensed Physical and Occupational therapists, there is something for everyone.

Sensory Rooms

These specialized rooms offer a safe space where our patients can self-regulate and decompress. Focused on providing the best sensory input for each patient’s specific needs, patients can learn how to self-regulate and ultimately improve their focus. Featuring soothing music, fiber-optic lighting, deep pressure input, or weighted products, these calming rooms help the muscles to send calming signals to the brain, so that patients can recognize their thoughts and improve their focus, helping them learn the skills they need to be better prepared for learning and interacting with others.

Accessible Bathrooms

At our Wichita center, we proudly offer two accessible bathrooms that include roll-in showers that can accommodate wheelchairs and mobility devices. A game changer in the world of home health, this feature was intentionally built for our patients who live in homes without accessible bathrooms, requiring them to take bed baths. Our Occupational Therapists can include actual showers as part of our patient’s treatment plans.

Teaching Kitchen

Our facility kitchens features accessible countertop space and equipment for teaching our patients how to work safely in a kitchen. Our patients will have the opportunity to plan, shop and prepare a meal and snacks. This space focuses on skills such as planning, organizing, multi-tasking, following directions, endurance and safety awareness and can be a part of their individualized treatment plan.

Laundry Facilities

A bonus space, our therapy centers features access to laundry equipment for our patients to not only take advantage of this free resource and complete their laundry, but also to develop the skill of using laundry equipment safely.
